I have been hesitating upgrading from last version that worked well for me which was 5.0.0.14. Today I installed 5.2.1.0 and it will not even connect for me. When I run diagnostics.exe it hangs on Register Application and does not progress beyond that point. I can reinstall 5.0.0.14 and it works fine with its diagnostics.exe completing without problem.
Diagnostics reports my system as --- Windows Info --- Microsoft (build 9200), 64-bit kernel32.dll version 10.0.10586.0
--- Internet Explorer Info --- Internet Explorer:
--- CPU Info --- Vendor : GenuineIntel Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz Identifier : Intel64 Family 6 Model 61 Stepping 4 Number of physical CPU cores: 4 CPU MHz : 2394
--- Memory Info --- Installed RAM: 16300 MB Memory Available: 10224 MB Used RAM: %37 Free RAM: %63
--- Drive Info --- *** Hard Disk: (c:\) *** Total size: 475012 (MB) Used: 170126 (MB) Free: 304885 (MB) Volume Label: Windows Serial Number: 9E91-FD61 File System: NTFS
and the complete log from 5.2.1.0 is

Hello Rodney, it sounds like your Firewall is re-blocking the latest version of IQFeed. The first thing I would check is that your Firewall is allowing Full Access through it for IQFeed.

I thought that may be problem so completely disabled firewall so it was not even running but still had same problem. The firewall I use is ZoneAlarm. Put in a snooze, but still had problem. Set all the programs in IQFeed directory to super users with open incoming and outgoing and opened ports 5000-5050 and 60000-60050, but still had problem. Also verified that Windows Defender was off.

Completely disable all firewalls but did not work. The pop-up log-in window does not even come up. I installed 5.2.0.10 on a Windows 7 machine with ZoneAlarm and it worked without any issues. It seems the problem is confined to Windows 10. I even set all the programs in IQFeed folder to run in WIndows 7 compatiability mode but it still did not work.

Rodney by shutting off the Firewall you have shut off the controls to the firewall the Firewall systems run in the background. the best way is to allow the IQconnect.exe through the firewall or make it a exemption in the Zonealarm.
We can help if you can give us a log file with the debug checked. This would help to figure out the exact steps the software takes and what is happening at each step.

Actually, I did shut down firewall and verified it was not running at all by running Task Manager and checking that it was not running. I also set ZoneAlaram to ask me to manually set what to do with any program trying to run. Will send you the debug log.

Well the error that you are seeing in the log is very commonly associated with firewall blocks, so given that you said yours was shut down, maybe there is another anti-virus at work or something along those lines, but I would invite you to contact our support team and they can remote into your PC and try to help determine where things are hanging up.
Or if you would prefer, and I don't know ZoneAlarm well, but their support page had the information below on changing permissions at the application level and we may be better served just giving rights to the application versus trying to shut down the firewall. My apologies if the info is out of date, but it should help get you close.
Thanks for the log to help us try and track this down, it was a large help.
Tim
From ZoneAlarm:
Program settings can be changed from the Program Panel. If you right- click on a Program name, you will find options to change settings or remove the program entirely. You can also click in the access area to change settings (a green check means it has automatic Access, a question mark means that the program has to ask every time, and a red X means No Access).
If a program seems to be blocked from access, make sure that the Block Servers box is UNchecked for that Zone. Remember that every IP address is considered Internet Zone unless you have specifically added it to your Trusted Zone (this should be set to Medium or lower). Example - if you add your email server to your Trusted Zone, then you need to leave the Block Local Servers box UNchecked - but if you did not need to add that server to your Trusted Zone, then you would need to leave the Block Internet Servers box UNchecked.
In Windows XP, if you log in with an Admin account and then switch to a non-Admin account, the programs remains running in the background - this is BY DESIGN in Windows XP. However, the non- Admin user may not have enough rights to make settings changes, see alerts properly (you may see Unknown Process or Find Errors on alerts). In these cases you should log in as Admin, make all necessary changes, then reboot.
Note- the Lock should NOT be used during normal usage, see the help files for more info. If you choose to use the Lock feature, then make sure that any program that requires access while the Lock is engaged has Pass Lock rights, and when setting the Lock, you MUST use the option to allow programs to pass the lock. Use of the Lock may cause loss of your Internet connection.
If an application is removed from the Programs List, ZoneAlarm will detect the application the next time it attempts to access the Internet. ZA will then add the application to the Programs List again. ZA remembers all versions of programs that have accessed the Internet but only lists the most recent.
If you wish to remove a program completely from the list, be sure to remove all versions from the list. If you have removed all versions, but the program continues to show up in the list, then it is still running somewhere on your system. You will need to contact that software manufacturer for proper removal instructions.
To add a program to the Program Panel list, Right-click in the actual Program listings, and highlight Add Program. Browse to the directory that contains the executable you are looking for and click Open. Contact the software manufacturer for help in locating the name of the file to add to the programs list. Some program require that more than one program have access rights.
Also, there is an option to check a box for programs that change frequently, in Advanced program settings. This is mainly designed for developers who are constantly changing executable files, but with to retain as much protection as possible.
