While checking AMD's earnings news announcements, I can get IQConnect to crash at will.
The exception is: AppName: iqconnect.exe, AppVer 4.0.0.2, ModName: msvcrt.dll, ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180, Offset: 00037fd4 The command sent to the history port: NNT:8933400:CBW; This is a story about AMD's earnings today. |

There are some issues with the formatting of this story. While IQFeed wouldn't have been able to display it anyway, we will add some additional error checking to IQConnect so it won't crash in the future. Thanks!

Curious... has something changed as I can view the story ok and no IQ crash at 6:00cst. However I do use NN for the query, the XML format so it may make a difference.

Was this fixed in the recent version of IQFeed? I've had 3 separate news stories crash IQConnect in the last few days.

Yes. According to the Release Notes for 4.1.1.1 "Added error checking for news stories. Will now send a warning message if the story is improperly formatted."

Autodesk Reports Record Fourth Quarter Revenues of $417 Million WARNING: WARNING: IMPROPERLY FORMATTED STORY TEXT WARNING: STORY WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED WARNING: For some reason, news stories posted around earnings seem to have the worst formatting, and are the most imoprtant. :-) This one was from ADSK. Thanks for the fix! |

Hopefully we will be able to code around the poor formatting and make it work in the XML. The news processor on the server is currently being worked on so we will see if that improves things..
