Hi. I recently completed a project using stock symbols. Worked great, thanks! Now I have a new project where a client would like to monitor currency pairs like USD/EUR. I see from some of the posts that this is possible. But I keep getting symbol not found. I assume I would get quotes by watching a symbol as I did with stocks. Is there a special format for these symbols? Is there something else I'm missing? Thanks.

There are 2 things needed.

1) You need to be authorized for Forex data. We have 2 packages available. $25 for basic forex which includes Barclays and Tullet data, and $50 for Premium Forex which includes HotSpotFX forex data.

2) Depending upon which service you subscribe to, you will need to use the proper symbols. Symbology can be found at http://www.iqfeed.net/symbolguide/index.cfm?symbolguide=guide&displayaction=support§ion=guide&web=iqfeed . Essentially you need to use a T (for tullet), B (for barclays), or H (for HotSpot) in front of the currency pair to get the spot price.

To add forex to your subscription, go to www.iqfeed.net and click on "Add Services", then "Add Premium Services".
