kevin -Interested User- Posts: 1 Joined: Apr 11, 2014	Posted: Apr 11, 2014 11:50 PM Msg. 1 of 3 Hello everyone, I apologize if this if covered elsewhere, but how do I access minute-by-minute historical data? The documentation provided only covers how to access certain data through Excel (e.g. =IQLink\|symbol!field). I'm not sure where to start. I am looking to obtain minute data for certain symbols and date ranges and to save them in easily parse-able file formats (.csv, .txt, etc.). How can I used this software to do this? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you, Kevin
DTN_CurtisT -DTN Technical Support- Posts: 323 Joined: Jun 14, 2007	Posted: Apr 13, 2014 04:01 PM Msg. 2 of 3 Hello Kevin, DDE by itself will only give you streaming data from IQFeed. To be able to download Historical data you will need to use a 3rd party charting software which there are 3 that work really well with IQFeed and Excel. The first two that work directly within Excel is XLQ from www.qmatix.com, and QuoteLink from www.quotelink.net. The third runs as a separate program from excel but connects to IQFeed to download both streaming and historical data and saves the data into excel formatted file and it is called QCollector from www.mechtrading.com. I would recommend checking out all three to see which one would work best for you and what you are wanting to accomplish. AMA -DTN Evangelist- Posts: 183 Joined: Aug 1, 2007	Posted: Apr 16, 2014 07:21 PM Msg. 3 of 3 If by chance you also have the DTNIQ interface app from Telvent that gets it's data feed from IQFeed, you can use a Time & Sales window to do what you want. Bring up a Time & Sales window, configure it to gather minute data back as far as you want(for me, stock data goes back into 2007), then click on the small diskette icon, at which point you'll be prompted where to save and which format. Specify comma delmited for .CSV and you'll be all set. You have to do this manually, or perhaps you could write a Windows macro to do this for you, if you have a repetitive task to accomplish.
