Hi,

The continuous contract data that you have for natural gas +NG# or QNG# is completely incorrect.

Looking at the historical daily or weekly bars from IQFeed, NG only went down to about 6.156 in 2009, yet the actual price of NG at the 2009 low was about 2.4.
This is just one example of the completely wrong historical data for NG.

This is so ridiculously out that it is criminal that you provide such incorrect data.
For a data vendor to charge the price that you do for data and then to provide such inaccurate data, that people are trying to trade off is inexcusable.

You should either remove the continuous contract completely from your servers, or you should correct the data right now.

I need this data, so obviously I have to go elsewhere, unless you can give me a date by which you can fix it.

Hello Peterb,

After checking the data here, it appears that you are pulling our back-adjusted data rather than the non-back-adjusted continuous contract, which means you may be running either Investor R/T or MarketDelta. By default, these two software's are configured to request and pull our back-adjusted continuous contracts when looking at any symbol with a # sign like QNG# it will pull data instead from QNG#C. To disable this configuration within the software go to File, Open, Configuration File, and add this line in DTNADJUSTEDCONTINUOUSFUTURES=FALSE.

From there, click on the down arrow in the upper left corner of that window, and select Save and close the Configure.txt file. Once that has been completed, you will need to re-download the data for your symbols.

If you decide you want to use the back-adjusted continuous contracts after editing the Configuration file use the #C rather than just # at the end of the root symbol.

If you have any other problems or questions please let us know.

Sorry - it seems that this issue is completely with Ninja Trader.

This is actually with Ninja Trader - what do I do with NinjaTrader to correct it?

Hello Peterb,

within your NT software, if you open the Account Connections, then select your connection and click on Change to open that, follow through till it asks for your User ID and Password there will be a check mark to use Back Adjusted continuous contracts instead, uncheck that then finish following through the prompts. Once back on the Account Connections close that window, and either close and re-open your charts, or reload the historical data and that should correct the data for you.
