Hi - occasionally, I have to restore my C: partition, if blown up. In poking around on my system, it appears to me that DTNIQ stores the Workspace definitions in the Registry, which means a C: restore will wipe out any Workspace changes I've made since the backup.

1) Is there any way to export the info to a flat file, later to be used to reload Workspaces? Only thing I can think of is to export the Registry section(and import it back in later), but I'm always antsy about messing with the Registry.

2) Is the Workspace definition info stored anywhere else I can get to it, other than in the Registry??

As you have figured out, the workspace is only stored in the Registry. The only way is a full system backup or copy the registry setting which could lead to problems.
The manual way is a text document that has everything written down on how the workspace was setup(charts/symbols) that you would store off site.

Ok, Loren, thanks for getting back to me.

Best I've come up with, which -will- work, is to go into edit mode in the workspaces manager, and when the list of items in the space pops up, do an Alt-PrtSc to get a screenshot, and store that in a file for later reference.

Main thing I wanted was a list of whatever I'm currently monitoring(which the above will provide), so that after a restore, I don't have to reinvent the wheel. It's not difficult to add/delete items into the space, but I don't want to have to figure out what was in the latest workspace list...
