Does anyone know if there are configurational tricks to getting current versions of Nirvana Omnitrader and Visual Trader to connect reliably to the IQFeed client? On my system the software wont connect or connects only after repeated retries -- 10 or more. Strangely, the 2007 version of OT has no issues and I have had no problems with the DDE interface.

Thanks.

With Omnitrader and Visual Trader they should connect to the feed correctly however you will need to check your version of OT and VT with what Nirvana has on their websites if they are not the most recent version this maybe a cause the non-connection. Also in OT and VT check the Data Settings... under Edit then click on the Advanced button in the lower left corner. under the Service tab that comes up make sure that the First and Second tab both have IQFeed for the service.

Thanks, Curtis. But I have the absolute latest pre-releases of OT/VT. With VT there is only one choice -- IQFeed. It starts the client repeatedly then times out and claims it cannot logon. But the older version of OT just works. I suspect it is a feature...

Hello Gregory, I had a similar issue with my VT software here and I had to uninstall and reinstall VT itself. If you can connect with the older software on the same pc and it can connect then it is not IQFeed. I would try just a reinstall of VT first if that doesn't help then Unistall the software and reinstall it.
