HCHFJPY returns nothing. All other HotSpot FX pairs return nothing. Methinks the HotSpot FX feed is down.
Any ideas why this is? More important: why it takes so long to recover from this? (It's been a few hours now.)
I have an idea. When I run a web site or service for my own customers, I set up a little script to ping a server occasionally - you know, once every two minutes, say. When the ping doesn't return a good price, I alert my pager. That serves to wake me up if I'm asleep, or to make me hit the pause button on my Tivo if I'm watching television. I think this might be something someone at DTN can look into setting up for their own company.

I just checked HCHFJPY and data is streaming through. Are you still having an issues or was it temporary?

And now it seems like all Hotspot fx symbols are working EXCEPT for HCHFJPY ... am I smoking crack, or is something going on?

And one more question: When you say the hotspot data is "streaming through" - what client app are you using to see that? IQExplorer?
Matthew
P.S. And now, once again (9:30 pm EST), I am getting *nothing* for any Hotspot FX symbol. All other symbols work fine.

i am currently looking at server 220 and its ticking away at 88.34. What server are you on? Have you tried to log out and back in just to be sure? Are you getting a symbol not found error?

Matthew,
According to what you posted, you aren't authorized for HotSpotFX. If you are using the latest beta of IQFeed, click on the connection manager, then look at your authorizations. Do you see a IQHOT in the list? If not, you aren't authorized for HotSpot.

Jay:
I have been paying for HotSpot FX, and have been successfully using it, for many months. If I am suddenly 'unauthorized' that is news to me.
And no, I am not using the new beta, because -- although I upgraded briefly, I needed to revert back to the old version due to the as-of-yet unsolved "history-socket-hangs-after-timeouts-requiring-complete-reboot" bug, which IQfeed knows about and is in the bug database (and is the source of a lot of discussion in the developer forum) but is as-of-yet unsolved. (Not complaining about that - I understand: bugs happen. But I do want to explain why I am unable to upgrade until that very serious issue is solved.)
So the issue stands:
I am a paying customer of HotSpot FX - and have been, forever - and I am receiving no HotSpot quotes. I am not convinced that the cause of the problem is that I am no longer authorized for HotSpot FX. That makes no sense. Nothing in my account has been changed.
My service has been down for nearly a day. Please help.
MK

Matthew,
Contact customer support at 402-255-8787 so they can look into your authorizations. Based on what you send from the login, IQHOT wasn't listed. it may have just been truncated however. Customer support can check to see if you are authorized.

Somehow I knew your response would be to call customer service. ;-) But - okay - I'll play by the rules and call the customer service number...
So: after 15 minutes on hold, I was finally told by customer service that the program which looks up whether or not I am authorized for the HotSpotFX service was "not working today" and so they were unable to tell me with 100% certainty whether I'm authorized. But it "looked like my service was canceled." That's impossible, I said, since HotSpot service has been working until last night.
Well, no matter - let's just get the service turned on again, right? No use getting upset about a mysterious cancelation. After all, every hour that goes by costs me money. "Okay," I said to the gentleman on the phone, "just turn on the service."
Sorry, I was told. Can't do that. The program to turn on services "isn't working."
When will it be working? I asked.
"They haven't told us yet."
Jay, this is kind of insane.

Our engineers are working to resolve a couple issues right now. Our Admin/Entitlement system isn't currently operational and Nasdaq Level II is down. All of our developers and OPS staff are working to pinpoint the problem and resolve it as quickly as possible.

If I can take the time to write 5 or 6 upset messages, I can take the time to write one more message thanking you.
Your Customer Support team said they'd call me back when they could access the Admin tool, and they actually did. Then they got HotSpot working quickly.
Thanks for the good support.
