I have two issues related to acquiring option chains for QQQ, with a command such as: OEC,QQQ,0,0; via the TCP interface to port 9100.
1) The number of put or call options is artificially limited to 255, when there are more available. 2) The "nears" option (which I assume narrows down the returned symbols to those whose strike prices are near the current equity price) does not appear to do anything.
Thanks for clarifying these two issues for me.

Ryan, We do not limit symbols to 255. However I am not ruling out the possibility that all the symbols are not being returned. I will be able to verify this after some testing on my end. I was able to verify that the nears option is currently inactive. We are working to fix this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vik Kodipelli Software Developer DTN Market Access http://www.iqfeed.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Edited by DTN_Vik_Kodipelli on Jun 25, 2004 at 12:04 PM Edited by DTN_Steve_S on Sep 19, 2011 at 09:15 AM

Ryan,
I am not able to recreate the issue of symbols being limited to 255. What version are you on, and can you still recreate this? Thanks!
