Ok, here's where I'm at on opening Time&Sales windows via workspaces:

* I need to open many T&S windows for tick interval data retrieval.
* I need to open many T&S windows for minute interval data retrieval.

Prior to opening the workspace, I can set the default interval for T&S to whatever interval I want: Tick, Minute, Daily, Weekly, Monthly.

If I choose Tick data as the default, then ALL of the T&S windows opened by the workspace will select tick data as the interval. If I set the default interval to minute, then the workspace opens ALL T&S windows in minute mode.

What I want to do is have a selection of BOTH intervals - some tick, some minute.

Up to this point, I've been using tick as the default and manually changing over some of the T&S windows to minute mode. Not too bad, as I was running just a few minute windows and many tick.

However, I'm now at a point where I want to ramp up the number of minute interval T&S windows and would like to automate, as the manual process will be a real drag.

I tried opening my workspace with tick data as the default(came up fine). I then manually changed the T&S default to minute intervals and opened a second/different workspace, which had some T&S entries I want to open in minute mode. Sounds like a plan...however, when the 2nd workspace was opened, DTNIQ automatically closed the 1st workspace(not what I wanted). I was hoping to open workspace #1 in tick mode, then add workspace #2 in minute mode, resulting in two workspaces open at the same time. That way, all of the tick windows go into workspace #1 and all of the minute windows go into workspace #2.

So, it appears it's impossible to have more than one workspace open at a time. Ideally, I'd open workspace #1 in tick default mode, manually change the T&S default interval to minute mode, then open workspace #2. BUT, this doesn't seem possible.

SOoooo, suggestions on how to accomplish this? I may be able to work around this via the Excel/DDE minute data thread I started yesterday, but I'd like to investigate this workspace(or other automation) approach too.

I may be able to use a macro generator/recorder (autohotkey.com) for this purpose, but I'd appreciate you all letting me know if there's a way to accomplish the above via DTNIQ...

Hello AMA,

As I understand it, our ProphetX software would be able to do what you want,
but at this time, there is no better way to do this in DTNIQ than the manual route
that you described.

Hi Todd - my understanding is that ProphetX can't retrieve equity options live streaming data.

So, if I want to track an Apple 2011 Dec17 400 call, symbol = 'AAPL1117L400', I don't think that's available in ProphetX(yet).

I tried getting equity options going when I first subscribed to ProphetX and was told by
someone there at Telvent that stock opts weren't available, and there was no timeframe
for implementing that.

Could you double check me on this? IF ProphetX -can- get that info now, I could probably
use that data via the Excel addin, mentioned by Jay Froscheiser in my other recent post.

Hello AMA,

I am sorry about that - you are correct. At this time, you cannot get equity options on ProphetX and we still do not have an ETA for that.

Ok, Todd, thx for the clarification. Between the XLQ 3rd party software that ties into IQFeed and autohotkey macro recorder/generator, I've figured out how to accomplish what I had in mind.

So, I'm ok for now.

Thanks for you help...
