Hi - I'd like to retrieve some tick data directly into an Excel spreadsheet. Right now, I have to bring up a DTNIQ T&S window, retrieve the data then manually save it to disk in .csv format. After that, I can import it into Excel and do my thing.

Is there an easy way to load xxxx tick elements directly into an Excel column, possibly using some kind of 'IQLink' statements similar to what I already use for other DTNIQ items in my sheet?

I'm using Excel 2007.

There isnt anything native in DTN.IQ. We do have an excel addin (add-on) for prophetx that can do this. Or, with DTN.IQ/IQFeed, i would suggest looking at one of the third party apps such as XLQ OR QuoteIN. They both provide great tools for pulling in data other than the DDE streaming data we natively provide.

The excel add-in for ProphetX is a premum service. Information is available here: http://www.telvent.com/en/business_areas/trading/solutions_overview/commodity_traders/add_on_solutions/loader.cfm?csModule=security/getfile&pageid=89404. The add-in software is part of the installation of ProphetX (it will ask if you want to install the add-in).

There is also a built in ability to get data from ProphetX into excel using the tabular data app (without needing the premium service entitlement). Information is available in the full help documentation by going to the 'quotes' section, then the 'dde linking' subsection. Scroll down about half way to see instructions on dde for historical data.

Thanks for the quick response, Jay...I already have a ProphetX subscription,
so will look into that more, time permitting.
