"IQ feed works very well, does not have all of the normal interruptions I have grown used to on *******" - Comment from Mark
"Its working FABULOUSLY for me!! Holy cow...there has been so much I've been missing lately, and with this feed and Linnsoft software...I'm in the game now." - Comment from Chris R.
"For anyone considering using DTN.IQ for a data feed, my experience with the quality of data and the tech support has been very positive." - Comment from Public Forum
"I just wanted to say how happy I am with your service. I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email
"This is an excellent value, the system is generous (allowing for 500 stocks) and stable (and really is tick-by-tick), and the support is fantastic." - Comment from Shirin via Email
"There is no doubt that IQFeed is the best data provider. I am very satisfied with your services. And IQFeed is the only one that I would recommend to my friends. Now, most of them are using your product in China." - Comment from Zhezhe
"I am enjoying the feed very much - so superior to the broker provided feed I was previously using." - Comment from George
"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob
"I am a hedge fund manager here. It’s funny, I have a Bloomberg terminal and a Bridge feed, but I still like having my DTN feed!" - Comment from Feras
"I was with ******* for 4 years at $230 a month, this is a huge savings for me, GOD BLESS YOU PEOPLE," - Comment from T.S. via Email

Here are 3 abbreviated lines of data I captured for the tick feed for SPY on 03/25/2010.

Q,SPY,E,116.8400,0.,,0,150,0,0,117.0900,117.1300,2000,2000,,,0.,16:00:00b,,0,116.8400,0.04,,,,p,,,,,03/24/2010

Q,SPY,E,116.8400,0.,,100,100,0,0,117.0900,117.1300,2000,2000,,,0.,04:13:16b,,0,116.8400,0.04,,,,p,,,,,03/24/2010

Q,SPY,E,116.8400,0.,,100,100,0,0,117.0700,117.1200,2000,2000,,,0.,04:13:16b,,0,116.8400,0.05,,,,p,,,,,03/25/2010

1. I'm getting some ticks from around the time of the market close for yesterday. Is this some correction data, and if not how do I filter it out?

2. There is some quote activity around 04:13:16 this morning, and inexplicably the date field rolls from 3/24 to 3/25 with no record of a trade in between.

This means there is ambiguity in determining the time of the tick data. If I take (today's date, feed timestamp), then the first and second line are interpreted in error. If I take (feed date, feed timestamp), then the second line is interpreted in error. Does anyone have a suggestion on resolving this?

Correction: If I take (today's date, feed timestamp), then the first line is interpreted in error. If I take (feed date, feed timestamp), then the second line is interpreted in error.

I am looking into this.

Looking at history, the first trade of the day occured at 04:13:16 EDT this morning (it was an extended trade) which explains why the trade date updated. However, this doesn't explain why you got a bid with the current trade time but a previous trade date at that time.

Can you send me the complete log you received this morning at this time to developer support?

Thanks,

Steve, I mailed a partial log to dev support that illustrates the problem.

I'm watching the feed this morning and seeing the same problem (previous day in feed timestamp) reported for premarket ticks for many stocks.

I got your email and I am still investigating this. I agree that something isn't right somewhere (although I cant determine where exactly yet).

Can you send me a log similar to yesterday's but from this morning?

I'm pretty sure I also found this or a related error. It seems to be related somehow to quotes before markets open. Once globex officially opened (Sunday night), the weird timestamps went away.

From my custom log (Time is Date Time in UTC that the packet was received from IQfeed)

This example might better illustrate the point:

Quote:
20100328T211459.902159>Q,@ESM10,1163.25,0,10,1163.00,1163.50,114,40,16:14:59b,,
...
20100328T212336.109902>Q,@ESM10,1163.25,0,10,1163.00,1163.50,164,40,16:14:59b,,

To clarify my earlier comment: I had also been watching in real time in quote tracker, and it seems to be a systemic problem where quotes before the globex opening hours at 17:00 central on Sunday seem to pick a rather arbitrary time rather then give the correct time. Hope this is helpful.
