Hello,

Recently I've been experiencing problems with the IQFeed whenever news hits the wire. i.e. Fed rate decision, Consumer Confidence, PMI, etc. The increased price fluctuation causes Ensign and IQFeed to shut down. When the markets calm down, everything returns to normal and both programs run flawlessly. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I haven't seen any reports of things actually shutting down during heavy markets. Are you saying the software just goes away, or do you get an error/crash? Or, are you saying data is being queued during heavy markets and returns to normal after things calm down?

In my experience, either the data queues for a considerable period of time or I get an error/crash. If it crashes, I get an error message. I could send a screenshot of the error message if you wish.

Please do. Please email the error to our support group as well as Ensign so we can both see if the error is in IQFeed or Ensign's software.

Yes, I have had this same problem for eight months where my quotes lock up. However, my quotes lock up sometimes every minute from 8:00am through 2:00pm CST. This has been a nightmare. I have contacted Ensign too many times to count and spoke with the programer, which was to no avail - he said I was the only one with this problem. When I told Ensign that I have two separate computers and programs doing this, they said well then its just your two that do this. I contacted microsoft to see if it was a conflict of programs but they could not find the problem. I have contacted DTN as many times as Ensign and they said get more memory, which I installed this weekend (10/29/05) but still my quotes lock up constantly.

I've tried everything from uninstalling my anti-virus to firewall with no results. I've checked for bugs and spyware.

Either it's Ensign or DTN.
