"I started a trial a few weeks back before the market went wild. DTN.IQ didn’t miss anything and beat my other provider. I decided to stay with you because of the great service through all the volatility." - Comment from Mike
"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim

I'm running IQFeed 4.4.0.3. I'm asking for these dynamic fields via TCP/IP:

Symbol,Last,Total Volume,Incremental Volume,High,Low,Bid,Ask,Last Trade Time,Open,Close,Previous Day Volume

The dynamic field documentation (http://www.iqfeed.net/dev/api%5Cdocs%5CDynamicFieldsets.cfm) says:

"The dynamic fieldsets only apply to update messages ("Q" messages) received in Level 1 streaming data."

I'm now getting a summary message that looks like it contains only the fields I requested:

P,INDU.X,9955.500,391456801,00,10322.760,9525.320,,,16:30:19t,10322.520,10325.380,00,

As far as I'm concerned, it's great if the Summary/'P' messages only send me those fields. But is that the way it's supposed to be (i.e., the documentation is incorrect)?

Jim

Jim,

It should have been the way it was described in the documentation.

The dynamic fieldsets only apply to update messages ("Q" messages) received in Level 1 streaming data."

It will be fixed in the next version.
