Just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Edition. Installed Sierra charts using IQFeed and it takes almost 2 hours to download the historical data.
At first I thought it was the wireless connection but using hardwire same results....

On my desktop running XP SP2 same feed it only takes a few minutes.
I tried running IQfeed and Sierra Charts as XP compatible but didn't make a difference.

Anyone else seen this and have a fix?

I have also posted this same question to Sierra Charts folks...

thanks in advance

david

Hi David,

We will want to take a look at your setup on the laptop. If you can check the system properties (Right click on Computer under the Start Menu, and left click on Properties), it will say computer towards the bottom of the window. Here it will list what sort of processor you have and how much RAM. What does it show there? Vista is very memory heavy, so it may be that what you have is not sufficent. There are quite a few things that could be causing the long download time, so it may be easier for you to email us at support@iqfeed.net or call 1-800-763-9959 for help.

Kind regards,

Sarah

Sarah,

thanks for talking with me on the phone yesterday.. it was nice to talk with you.
quick update...

I download Multicharts on the 30 day trial and not sure how much data is coming down, at least one day which enough for me, but it comes down in SECONDS.....less than 15 seconds and the charts are working great... Not sure what is happening with SC, but it seems they have some work do to..

again.. thanks for the help..
david
