"IQFeed version 4 is a real screamer compared to anything else I have seen." - Comment from Tom
"I use IQ Feed, Great stuff as far as data analysis information, storage and retrieval is concerned." - Comment from Public Forum
"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob
"Thanks for all of your help. Great customer service deserves to be recognized which one the reasons I've been a customer of DTN for over 10 years!" - Comment from Stuart
"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim
"Just a quick one to say I'm very impressed so far :) The documentation for developers is excellent and I've quickly managed to get an app written to do historical downloads. The system is very robust and pretty quick considering the extent of data that's available. The support guys have been very helpful too, in combination with the forums it's been plain sailing so far!" - Comment from Adam
"If you are serious about your trading I would not rely on IB data for serious daytrading. Took me a while to justify the cost of IQ Feed and in the end, it's just a 2 point stop on ES. Better safe than sorry" - Comment from Public Forum
"You are much better than lawyers or the phone company because you answer the phone when I call! I just love your customer service." - Comment from Isreal
"The service is great, I see a noticeable improvement in my volume profiles over [broker]'s data feed" - Comment from Larry
"I like you guys better than *******...much more stable and a whole lot fewer issues." - Comment from Philip

Jay,
FYI. As of 7:00 PM CST 2/7/2005, I am receiving the EOD data again on both machines running different versions of the Neoticker software.
This had to be on the IQfeed side (upgrade, reboot, glitch, ... something). Can you find out what may have caused this? As noted above, the problem began on Sunday. It was in the late morning/early afternoon.
A response from you to a problem I had last July, posted on: Jul 27, 2004 08:15 AM, that:
"The current day's daily bar won't appear until after all post market exchange maintenence is done. Usually around 7pm or so. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jay Froscheiser DTN Market Access, LLC."
I find it interesting that at 7:00 PM, the EOD data started working again.
I'm really happy to have it back, and not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'd really like to know what happened. It very frustrating when I am 99.999% sure which side the problem is on, and I can't seem to get someone to accept it.
Thanks,
Jordan
Jay,
Here's what is going on.
I was receiving all EOD data (including the missing 2/4/05 data) Friday night and Saturday on a Beta version of my software. On Sunday (2/6/05) this problem of not receiving EOD data after 2/4/05 (Friday) started. Realtime data is fine.
To be sure, when I got home last night, I tried my backup machine which has the Offical version of the Neoticker software. This machine was working fine last week, has not been used since last week, and there have been no changes to the machine.
Guess what? My backup machine is NOT receiving any EOD data after 2/3/05 either. This indicates to me that my software is not the problem, and that something may have changed on the IQfeed side.
I need to get this figured out ASAP. As I cannot perform any evening scans without current EOD data. I have also sent email to the Neoticker folks to see what they know.
Thanks,
Jordan
I am not able to access Friday's (2/4) EOD data. I use Neoticker in real time and scan using the EOD data in the evening and on weekends. I see this happen every once in a while.
Can you tell me how you store EOD data? Is it a seperate server? When is it updated? For example, I can usually access EOD data after about 6:00pm CST.
I trying to figure out if this is on the IQfeed side or if I have a software problem.
Thanks,
Jordan
Hi Jay,
I am using Neoticker. I am receiving real-time tick data and can generate real-time tick charts. However I am not able to generate historical tick charts. If you provide 8 days of historical tick data, can you tell me how the data are timestamped? That is, are historical tick data timestamped on a per second basis or are all ticks for a given minute timestamped on a per minute basis?
Thanks,
Jordan
Greetings,
I changed my software vendor about a month ago, and up until 10/11/2004 I was able to generate real-time and historical per tick charts with the new software using IQfeed. Since then, all I am able to generate per minute charts. What I am seeing is all of the ticks are compressed into minute bars. I verified that I am using the latest IQfeed client.
I contacted the software vendor, and they indicated in their response that IQfeed had changed the API and that it was no longer providing data on a tick basis as defined by the API specs.
Can you please provide some assistance with this issue.
Thanks,
Jordan
Now I'm not getting the current day's data on a daily chart for any stock symbols. Intraday is working.
FYI. When I first noticed this problem I was on a different computer at another location 30 miles away. When I returned home Sunday, this was happening on my home computer also. Thus, confirmation that it's not the software or the hardware on the user side.
GE, SPY, DIA, JNPR,.... all equity symbols. 1-60 min. I'm sitting in front of the computer right now and still having this problem. What's going on here?
I am not able to load charts on anything less then a daily daily period. It ws working fine a couple of hours ago. I have not changed or modified my software, so I am guessing it is on the IQfeed end.
Is there anyway to tell if there are any updates, maintenance, etc. being done that would cause this to happen.?
