Hi there, i have some question i hope a friendly soul might be able to answer. Basically the questions are about getting data so that i don't trade certain stocks on certain days.
There are two scenarios:
Backtest: historical information I have a list of ticker symbols (e.g. GOOG, EBAY etc.) and a time scope with a start and end date (e.g 21. May 2012 --> 1. June 2012) (so the timescope is in the past, so i would like to request historical information). Is it possible to get data from IQFeed to check if the tickers had ex-dividend dates within this timescope? I would also like to check if the tickers had released any yearly or quarterly reports within that timescope.
Forward/papertrading: The scenario is the same as above. I have a list of tickers and a timescope. But this time the timescope extends into the future (no historical data). Is it possible to know if a ticker has a scheduled ex-divident day in the future, say 1 week ahead of today?
:)

Hello Jensen,
Yes, ex-dividend dates are a data field in IQFeed data so they are available to request. I have to ask our Market Data Services if future ex-div dates are available and will get back to you with a response on that.

Hello again,
Yes, future ex-dividend dates are available in IQFeed and typically show up shortly after they are announced by the company.
