I am not seeing any issues logging in. Usually the failure retrieving IP Information error is due to the inability of your machine to contact our login servers. Since you dropped your connection, it would appear a route to our servers must have been lost. I would suggest a complete reboot of your machine just to ensure it clears cached routing table info and try to connect again. Let us know if you continue to have problems.

alright, so now we know itsa my end, and itsa something new/not seen here before.
before telling me to upgrade versions again ];), is there a way to clear that 'cached routing table' manually, by chance?
after about a good dozen re-takes, the thing finally did kick-in, although much too slowly to convince me everything's alright as before the adventure began.
..we'll see how far along it hobbles along for now, and meanwhile get to work on trying to remember steps to properly upgrade versions, indeed --
