To Whom It May Concern:

With the understanding that you have been trying to improve the efficiencies and scope of the news, economic reports and statistical information available on your system, I would like to comment on some of the things/deficiencies that I've noticed in the new formats and various pages that had been utilized but are no longer available (or are they?):

[1] The "Money Market Mutual Fund and CD Report" is still out there under the new format and system, but it hasn't been updated for about 3 weeks now, so the information is useless. Please continue offering this information AND keep it updated if at all possible.

[2] Under the old system, there was a page that was titled "Schedule of U.S. Economic Reports" that gave a one-month look forward on upcoming economic data releases of all types including their expected date and time of release, along with the applicable period for which the data is relevant and data on the prior report and a forecasted expectation.

Is there a report or page(s) that replace this valuable information? I sure hope so. Is it possibly now titled the same as before, but only gives a weekly look forward? Please advise

[3] Considering the display of news articles and information that comes across the system, I agree that there is a huge wealth of info available, but the presentation is jumbled, run-together and "messy" at best; and possibly could be easier to navigate and view if arranged by topics or some other sorting criteria. Just a thought.

In advance, thanks for responding to my questions and requests. I have always enjoyed using the DTN systems and hopefully will be able to do so in the future.

Allan,

Thans for the comments.

1) This content should be available under the Calendars and Reports segment, and it should be updating. I will do some checking in the morning to see if this isn't the case.

2) Yes. This page too is in the Calendars and Reports segment but will only include a weekly schedule. I again will double check as I think that is all that was provide previously as well.

3) I am very open to suggestions on how things could be presented in a more useful fashion. RTT provides us with categories that we use to create the segments you see. We combined a few of their segments, and even process some content into other segments based on headline content. For Example, much of the breaking news from RTT combines headlines with full stories. I thought it was better to split them so you didn't need to hunt for the updates which contained more detail than the headline when a story broke. One thing our newsroom used to do was update the market summaries throughout the day, and overwrite the old stories as new ones came in. This was good as you always knew where the most current update was, but if you didn't see a previous update, you were out of luck. Now, you can see the most current at the top of the scrolling menu, or look back further for historical reports.

I have no doubt we can organize the content better, and I am more than willing to consider suggestions if you or any other users have some. We are also about to release our DTN.IQ for Satellite software which, using a PC, will allow users to create their own filters based on keywords, symbols, etc. This may be the best solution by allowing each user to organize the content in ways that best suits their trading.
