Hi, RegisterClientApp suggests, that the registered window handle gets connection status event as mouse move events. This is true for initial connect. I just forced a connection loss but using the tool tcpview.exe and terminating the remote socket connections. Unfortunately: - I did no get any mouse move event to indicate the loss of connection - nor did the connection manager try to recover the connection Is there any way to: a) track connection status b) to manually recover the connection except shutting down the connection manager (which will not work due to a pending bug) and restarting it Regards Dierk Droth www.trademagic.net TradeMagic - Trading at its best

When the session drops, you will receive a message "S,SERVER DISCONNECTED"
When (if?) the connection manager reconnects, you will receive a message "S,SERVER CONNECTED"
To force connection manager to try to reconnect, send the following message to the connection manager "S,CONNECT"
To force connection manager to disconnect, send the following message to the connection manager "S,DISCONNECT"

Cool, thanks. I'll give it a try. Are data streams (market data and level II) maintained or do I have to re-subscribe ? Regards Dierk Droth www.trademagic.net TradeMagic - Trading at its best

I just tried around and found that "S,SERVER DISCONNECTED" is sent after the connection was recovered (and was followed immediately by "S,SERVER CONNECTED"). As I see it now, I get an indication that the connection is recovered, but not as it is lost. Any thoughts on that ? Dierk Droth www.trademagic.net TradeMagic - Trading at its best

you need more patience. it take the connection manager a while (75 seconds) to determine that the connection has dropped

I see. Hope my customers are patient too if it takes them 75 seconds to find out that they are no longer connected . Any way to configure these 75 seconds ? Dierk Droth www.trademagic.net TradeMagic - Trading at its best

The timeout value is hardcoded currently. In future releases, I don't know if it will be configurable or not (we will have to think about that), however, we are working to make the connection state easier to maintain (so it will attempt a reconnect immediately after being disconnected instead of waiting for a timeout).
