"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim
"After all the anxiety I had with my previous data provider it is a relief not to have to worry about data speed and integrity." - Comment from Eamonn

"I would just like to say that IQFeed version 4 is running very well and I am very happy with its performance. A response to your question was sent to you on Monday. Perhaps you don't have your email filters set up correctly? You should see a message with subject "Re: Tradeworks Software feedback".

In any case, let me respond again here.:

1. I'm not sure what you mean by "cannot load QCollector". Do you mean the program won't start up? Are you seeing any error messages?

2. I suggest you go to our web site at
http://www.mechtrading.com/qcollector/dtn/download.htm and install the latest version of QCollector For DTN IQFeed.

I haven't received any other reports of problems running QCollector with the new release of the IQFeed client software.

IQFeed 3rd Party Software Support » Qcollector - No seconds time stamp !! Apr 17, 2007 03:21 PM (Total replies: 4)

As the developer of QCollector For DTN IQFeed I can say that QCollector has been tested against the new server configuration supporting the seconds in the time stamps for historical and real-time tick data and performed perfectly.

The next release of QCollector For DTN IQFeed will fully support the new data feed features when they are rolled out.

This post is to announce the release of QCollector For DTN for beta testing.

QCollector For DTN lets IQFeed subscribers download data for stocks, futures, options and indexes and save the data to files on their computer. The downloaded data can then be used in other trading programs for technical analysis, charting and scanning, or running and testing trading systems. No need to subscribe to additional data services for historical data.

You can download a free copy of QCollector For DTN from the Tradeworks Software web site at http://www.mechtrading.com/qcollector/dtn/download.htm

QCollector For DTN Features

  • Download intra-day or end-of-day data; select monthly, weekly, daily, intraday minutes or time and sales.

  • Download and save historical data for any symbol including Forex.

  • Save your data in ASCII text format or in the popular MetaStock data format for compatibility with many other trading programs.

  • Create portfolios of securities to simplify file management tasks.

  • Import lists of symbols into your QCollector portfolios.

  • Run timed updates during the trading session to keep your data files updated with the latest real-time data from IQFeed. Set the timed update frequency to run as often as every five seconds on hundreds of symbols.

  • Run a regular download at any time of day or night. All data files are updated using the most recent data available.

  • Schedule tasks to have QCollector automatically bring all your data files up to date.
Create tasks to update individual portfolios, start timed udpates, and more.

  • Many more features, including data export, conversion to MetaStock format, and more.
