I am developing strategies with Multicharts that use tick and volume bars exclusively. The problem I am running into is keeping several tick charts synchronized on different computers.
I would like to to have a fixed starting date and for each computer to show the same chart exactly. I don't know why this is so difficult in Multicharts. I have a workaround that requires copying the database from one computer to another but this can be complicated. I have two remote installations for live trading and one development machine. The development machine crashed last night and now that it has reloaded the data, the data is out of sync with the remote installations. This is becoming a big enough problem that I am considering changing platform.
Are there any other trading systems that use IQFeed where the handling of tick data works consistently and repeatably. All I want to do is to be able to develop locally, upload a strategy and get the same results from my back testing. How difficult could this be?
I look forward to hearing any suggestions.
Kind regards,
Alex
