I'd like to suggest that DTN team considers stripping out calculation of "unnecessary" derived fields in IQConnect when user is not subscribing those with Dynamic Fieldset. This should substantially reduce IQConnect CPU utilization, especially during the fast market. Personally, I use only 1/8th of the total available fields, and none of them are calculated.
Thanks, M.

We are considering doing this as part of a Java version of IQFeed. In that version, we are evaluating having an option to only send a stream of trade and quotes and nothing else. Of course this means you won't get any cumulative volume, change or any other information that is derived from the stream. If we were to make this configurable, we would likely not save any CPU cycles as we would exchange "calculating data" for "checking to see if we should calculate data". Thus, it will likely be all or none.
