PX 3.0.2.8: It seems that when creating new quote sheet while preference is selected to "place new displays in tabs", the split-pane feature (for linking chart) is not selectable. To get a split pane view, I had to create a new quote display in an undocked window before it was possible to select the "split the pane" button. Was then able to drag the tab into my main window.

Hi John,
This seems to work fine for me - one thing you might look at though - when you create the split screen to link to another display, you need a ticker symbol highlighted. If you don't have any symbols in the quote sheet or something other than ticker symbol is highlighted you will not get the drop down list.

You may not be observing what I'm reporting, since this is a bit tricky to describe; but I've confrimed again that whenever a new quote sheet is created as a tab inside a another (docked) quote sheet display window, the split-pane button is not enabled.

I don't think the pull down menu is an issue since it's the button I'm referring that is adjacent to the Pin in the lower left of the window that enables the split-pane feature. When the small grayed-out window cannot be depressed, any chart that is linked will be created in a seperate window, not in a split pane view.

Alternatively, if the same Tab is undocked (selecting "tab in new frame" option), the split-pane button becomes active and it is then possible to make the chart display within the same window. At that point, with both quote sheet and chart are held within a single display and the tab can be dragged back (docked) into the other window.

Not a big issue; but it may be worth investigating if what I'm describing can be observed in the lab.

OK - explore this a bit more and let you know what we find.

The behavior I'm describing causes a problem if the preference to create new displays as tabs has been set. Thank you.

Running PX 3.0.2.8.

Am experiencing the previously reported split-pane issue also within scrolliing news displays; unable to set up new scrolling news index and link stories to split pane (below). Unlike the chart issue previously reported, I've not had success getting it to work by undocking the window. The only workaround I've found is to let story display in a second (linked) window--outside of the story index display.

I know this is being worked on; so I just wanted to alert someone to similar issue in News windows.

This has been fixed and is in test right now. It will be available with the new release.
