Anyone like to post which language provided the most stability.

I am using vb with sockets and I am wondering where the instability (connection issues) I am experiencing originates.
(is its my fault?)

Dennis
Thanks for your reply

I am having some problems with sockets (vb). I need to test some more to find out exactly why. I am tempted to jump ship and move to the most stable solution.
I am also tempted to jump ship to .net.

Regards
Greg

IQFeed Developer Support » Can you post IQWatchQuote source code? Jan 13, 2005 01:39 PM (Total replies: 1)

This was dtn's reply

Greg,

Sorry. The code is not available for this tool. It is meant as a diagnostic tool and not as a sample app.

IQFeed Developer Support » Option Chains via TCP/IP in .net Jul 20, 2004 08:37 AM (Total replies: 3)

Thanks, that has cleared up some confusion.

The bottom line is that I require some sort of client that will connect to IQFeed and present data over port 9100. My seperate .net application can then interact with this port over TCP/IP.

So if .net is unavailable then I could use C++, whatever makes port 9100 available.
Will any of the C++ examples provided (recompiled with my ApplicationID of course :o) connect to IQFeed and bind to port 9100 so that my .net app can read option chain data from the port ?

Any advice you can provide in enabling port 9100 from C++ (or VB if it comes down to it) would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

IQFeed Developer Support » Option Chains via TCP/IP in .net Jul 19, 2004 02:08 PM (Total replies: 3)

The example IQFeed .net client provided with IQFeed2.3* appears to bind to port 5009 only.
My application requires port 9100 available so that it can receive option chain data.

Is there an example .net client that connects to IQFeed and provides the relevent data over port 9100?

I'm using the current Microsoft .net SDK.

Kind regards,
Greg
