Hello AMA,
There are a variety of things that can cause 'internet burps' and the Prophet X connection can have different responses depending on the cause.
Would it be possible to have you send a screen shot of your System Alert messages you get when this occurs as well as a screen shot of your Help and About Prophet X window to so we can get a better idea of what may be happening with your connection?
Also, I am not aware of any settings available to adjust the time-out period. However, I will check with our development team to be certain and let you know if such exists.

I believe your DTN ProphetX desktop shortcut icon has lost it's mapping to the actual Prophet X application. Delete the desktop icon. Then, go into My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > DTN > Prophet X. There should be a ProphetX.exe in there. Right-click this and select Send to > Desktop (create Shortcut). This will put a new DTN Prophet X icon on your desktop that should work correctly. If this doesn't fix it please call our technical support line.

Under File and Preferrences, go to Charts and then Line Studies.
For the General Trendline settings, make sure both 'Extend line left' and 'Extend line right' boxes are unchecked. Now, if you go to your chart and draw a Trendline it will only connect the 2 points you select.
