We provide a professional level of service to our customers as you see by the fast response to your inquiry. It appears you have already tried to hack your way toward using IQFeed in your application, which may be good enough for some of our users. There is no additional cost to doing this other than time and frustration. The level of support we provide to developers is unmatched and is provided for those who can't afford for their software to stop working because they took shortcuts or weren't aware of changes made to the API that could break their code. The API service includes full documentation, sample code, direct support from our development team, notification of changes, and access to pre-production systems or beta versions to allow you time to test your software before we release to the general public. At $360 per year, this should be one of the smallest investments you can make into your trading system.

There is cheap and free data out there. Many have come and gone over the years because they either provided poor service or had a bad financial model. Providing quality service is neither cheap nor easy.

We would love the opportunity to serve your needs and help ensure you have a trading system that will be operational for years to come.

DTNIQ Client Software Wish List » iqconnect.exe & iqconnect_console.exe Nov 11, 2016 06:50 AM (Total replies: 7)

Thanks everyone for posting your suggestions and feedback. While we won't be providing a non-GUI version of DTN IQFeed, we do have plans to make IQFeed run more easily in cross platform environments. It's in the early stages at this time but is on our Roadmap.

We received your follow up email as well and a response is coming shortly. For those on this forum with the same question, I will also answer here:

We store tick data for 180 days. This data can be retrieved in nVolume, nTick or nSecond intervals where “n” is whatever interval you choose. We store many years of 1 minute data. This data can be retrieved in nMinute intervals. Thus, you can request 60 minute bars and you will get data up to the latest tick with the last bar being a partial bar.

We store daily data with bars generated at the end of each day. When you ask for weekly or monthly bars, we derive that from the daily bars. These intervals will not include the current day's trading session until the end of the day. Our customers are traders, and thus they are nearly always also watching a stream of the instruments they are interested in. The stream includes everything they need to create their own partial/current bar for the day/session including OHLCV.

You don't need to hand crank over a load of data. You just need to watch the stream on the symbol. When you watch a symbol we send the current session OHLCV immediately and update it with every tick throughout the session so your chart/analysis can stay current.

Data and Content Support » Aggregation Oct 21, 2016 08:47 AM (Total replies: 1)

Bob, we don't have any plans to provide a bundled/summary feed. Our customers overwhelmingly prefer the fact that we unbundle the information provided in the MDP 3 protocol.

We are however working to bring additional information to our customers that will give them more insight into the makeup of trades. This includes Tag 346 as well as a few others. I don't have timing for when this will be made available, but it is on our roadmap and will be implemented along with other enhancements we are working on for IQFeed.

Right now, a user can determine trades that we unbundled from the exchange by looking at the TickID field as all trades that we unbundled will have the same TickID.

Data and Content Support » FIX/FAST Protocol Sep 12, 2016 01:32 PM (Total replies: 1)

Years ago, we migrated our ticker systems from the CME exchange's ITC protocol to the Fix/Fast protocol. We have since migrated again as the exchange moved to MDP 3 protocol. Thus, there is no longer a Fix/Fast protocol from the CME. These protocols are what we receive from the exchanges and we haven't had plans, nor do we have plans to release a Fix/Fast protocol to users (due to many reasons including licensing requirements). We strive to keep our protocol consistent to users to not only provide value-add information, but also to isolate our users from having to constantly make changes as the exchanges make them.

Zane,

Are you seeing any errors, message or just a completely blank page? We aren't seeing any issues on the forums so if you could provide some additional information it would be helpful in assisting you. One option would be to ensure your browser isn't running in any sort of privacy mode and that cookies are enabled.

IQFeed Developer Support » EOD Historical Dividend Adjustments Jun 14, 2016 02:08 PM (Total replies: 24)

At I high level it seems easy. The requests/API calls aren't the issue. The main issue is that we have deep historical data stored one way currently. To provide it 3 different ways means we need to find ways to adjust the back data to accommodate the new styles. If we didn't have some much history to deal with, we could easily add 3 new methods to request data and it would work on data from today forward (not something you or our customers would want nor expect). We want to do it right, so it will take a bit more time.

IQFeed Developer Support » EOD Historical Dividend Adjustments Jun 14, 2016 12:49 PM (Total replies: 24)

We do have this on our product roadmap. However, I don't have a lot to share regarding timing or the exact implementation at this time. We are in the research stages to make sure we can do this effectively and accurately. The challenge we run into is not only providing accurate data going forward, but being able to adjust the existing historical data we provide to ensure consistency as well as backward compatibility.

The London Stock Exchange and FTSE Russell Indexes are now available on all of Schneider Electric’s market intelligence solutions (DTN IQ, DTN IQFeed and DTN ProphetX) so traders have greater access to real-time intelligence from their preferred markets on one platform. The additions are part of Schneider Electric’s (Parent Company of DTN) overall strategy to strengthen its solutions for the international equities markets.

The London Stock Exchange and FTSE Russell Index were chosen based on feedback from traders. Now, current and prospective users have the benefit and convenience of managing equities information from global markets on one trusted platform.

Because Schneider Electric's solutions are largely compatible with third-party analysis platforms, traders are able to maximize investments by not only combining a wide variety of international market data and news feeds on one customizable solution, but amplifying analysis capabilities through seamless, low-cost integration with their preferred analysis tool.

Current customers can add LSE or FTSE data to their subscription by contacting sales or utilizing our Online Account Management Portal. New customers can sign up for a trial on our website or by contacting our sales department.
