"I just wanted to let u know that your data feed/service is by far the best!!! Your unfiltered tick data is excellent for reading order flow and none of your competitors delivers this quality of data!" - Comment from Peter via Email

"I just wanted to tell you what a fine job you have been doing. While *******, from what I hear, has been down and out, off and on, IQ feed has held like a champ this week." - Comment from Shirin
"There is no doubt that IQFeed is the best data provider. I am very satisfied with your services. And IQFeed is the only one that I would recommend to my friends. Now, most of them are using your product in China." - Comment from Zhezhe
"You are either overstaffed or people just don't have problems with your feed because customer support always answers the phone quickly." - Comment from Jay via Email
"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob

Looks like it was nothing major -- just a few indexes.

Thanks!

I'll track down the symbols, then let you know. If they're just holdovers that I'm no longer using, there won't be any need to update the subscription.

Thanks!
Allen

I normally run an end-of-day tick history fetch for a few thousand symbols. Monday and today (Wednesday), about 95% of the fetch completed successfully, then it stopped because iqconnect returned "!ERROR! Unauthorized user ID." in response to the history request. Restarting iqconnect and re-running the fetch resolved the problem.

Tuesday there was no problem.

It might be coincidental, but the failure always occurred when fetching from the 148 servers and never when fetching from the 156 servers.

Running IQFeed version 5.2.5.0 under Wine on Linux.

Before I dive into debugging, did anything change on the 148 servers over the weekend that might account for this?

Thanks!
Allen

Data and Content Support » Old symbols appearing in symbol list additions May 10, 2016 01:13 PM (Total replies: 2)

Thanks!

Every day I grab a copy of the additions to the symbol guide from
http://iqfeed.net/symbolguide/display.cfm?eight=08011D32.cfm&six=0600036C&title=DTN%20-%20U.S.%20STOCKS%20-%20ADDITIONS

In today's file, I see a number of symbols that were retired after acquisitions. For example: AFFX, BDBD, CTCT, CYBX, DMND, DYAX (and there are quite a few more).

Assuming these companies haven't all been spun out again, it looks like there's a bug in the code that generates the symbol list.

Some of it's 4.9 and some is 5.1. No changes for 5.2 yet.

Looks like everything ran cleanly today. There were no disconnections, a large history fetch at the end of the day ran to completion, and the tick data appears to be correct.

My app connected without difficulty this morning and so far is running normally.

Looks good so far. We'll see how it does tomorrow when the markets are back in full operation.

Thanks for the fix!

Pardon; I can't tell if the attachment worked. Trying again.

There appears to be a call to an unimplemented function in msvcp110.dll. Crash information attached.

Looks like at least the "Additions" section of the Symbol Guide on iqfeed.net is stalled again -- stuck at 05/29/2015.

IQFeed Developer Support » 5.1.2.5 iqconnect failing under Wine Apr 25, 2015 11:06 AM (Total replies: 4)

I'm still seeing crashes with 5.1.2.5. Switching from the 64-bit Wine server to the 32-bit server reduces the number of crashes, but doesn't eliminate them. 5.1.1.3 works without crashing.

I've been working with Tim and Steve to narrow down the cause, but so far they haven't been able to reproduce the problem on their system with their tests. I'm extracting code from my app to create a minimal sample program that triggers the crashes, but that's going very slowly; testing takes a lot of time when we don't know exactly what prompts a crash.

It's also possible that the version of Wine I'm running doesn't match the version that Tim and Steve are running. We've coordinated to bring their release up to date, but it's possible that Wine built for Fedora (which I'm using) differs from Wine built for OpenSuSe (which they're using) even if the version numbers are the same. Checking this is also on the to-do list.

Following up: This appears to be caused by history requests, but not immediately after issuing them.

I've tried to post a report on this, and also tried to send it by private message, but for some reason the website never responds. Could I trouble one of you DTN folks to send me a private message with an email address I can use to send the report?

Thanks!

Looks like we're missing this week's updates. See, for example, http://iqfeed.net/symbolguide/display.cfm?eight=08011D32.cfm&six=0600036C&title=DTN%20%2D%20U%2ES%2E%20STOCKS%20%2D%20ADDITIONS

IQFeed Developer Support » Wrong Interval being returned on HIT Lookup Jul 12, 2014 05:30 PM (Total replies: 4)

Looks like the command interpreter is using a text-to-binary conversion function that understands the C convention for numeric values - initial zero means octal, rather than decimal. This could be a general problem.
