Hi,

Please could you advise what the difference is between Qualified vs Non-Qualified fields/trades in the Summary/Update message fields.

If I am monitoring symbols during the pre-market and I would like the Summary message (P) to include the most recent trade date, time and price including whatever has been happening in the premarket, which fields should I use. I presume I should use fields that include non-qualified trades:

- Most Recent Trade Date
- Most Recent Trade TimeMS
- Most Recent Trade

Thanks.

Hello,

Exchanges have trades that can set new open, high, low, and last values and trades that do not. The trades that you see on charts and as quotes generally only include these last-qualifying trades.

Trades that cannot, include things like odd-lots, trades that are less than 100 shares, and the exchange has determined that these should not show on charts and the like. But, some people tend to want to see them regardless.

The extended fields will probably satisfy your needs fine, that will give you your regular trades and your extended hours trading, so that the other trades are filtered out automatically for you. But, if you or your customers would like to see these other trades, then the Most Recent Trade values would be best.

We do have a message contents field that helps to identify the trades type as well. If you were to pull in this field and use the MRT values, your user could choose the option of viewing these or not, and you could filter out O trades, or not filter them, as your need dictates.

So there are lots of options, it really just comes down to what you want to see happen.
